Full House Refurbishment in Redmires, Sheffield - Completed 17/06/2013
We actually started this project on christmas day 2012. The property was let full time, when after 26 years the previous tenant moved out the water wasn't turned off and a pipe burst in the loft. The leak wasn't identified for over a week so the property was in a bad way. The owner was due to be away on holiday from the 24th of december so we were asked to begin the drying out process on christmas day. Once dry we began the refurbishment, the house was taken back to brick, all ceilings but 2 were removed, it was cavity wall insulated and the party wall was sound proofed. The house was rewired and replumbed, replastered, decorated and a new kitchen and bathroom was installed. The project was challenging in the way there was no phone signal and being situated in the middle of nowhere, deliveries could never find us and it was very difficult to get to in the snow, often having to dig the vans in to work in the morning and then again out in the evening.
Lounge Refurbishment in Broomhall, Sheffield - Completed 22/08/2012
We were asked to remove a large load bearing wall in a busy care home in Sheffield. The existing space was set up as a separate lounge and dining room which never really worked, so the client wanted to remove the dividing wall to open the space up. The wall was carrying loads of 6 tons per linear meter and required 42 acro props and 10 steel needles to hold up the existing structural arrangement whilst the works were undertaken. We removed the wall, installed new lights and sockets, new radiators, replastered, installed a new timber floating floor, skirtings, architraves and dado rail, redecorated and installed a new suspended ceiling.
Toilet & Utility Refurbishment in Ringinglow, Sheffield - Completed 10/05/2013
This small project involved freshening up an outdated toilet and utility room. The old carpets were removed and replaced for black slate tiles, the old boiler was hidden behind a kitchen larder unit, the toilet was rotated 90 degrees and soil pipe hidden behind a half height studwork finished with smaller matching slate tiles. To finish the toilet we installed a small square cloak room basin and trendy fixture and fittings. In the utility we replaced the outdated existing units and sink, and installed a new slate effect worktop finished with a slate splashback. We also installed new spot lights, switches and sockets, and a new radiator. The space was finished with brilliant white ceilings, natural hessian walls and brilliant white woodwork which made a huge difference to the previous stained pine woodwork!
